Classic Group started out developing, designing and building retirement villages for other operators and soon came to recognise the opportunity to create something different for retiring kiwis – leading to the conception of Classic Life.

Directors, Matt Lagerberg and Peter Cooney have a wealth of knowledge behind them, successfully steering the Group. Together they have diversified the companies interests and created new ways of generating revenue.

Classic Builders has a strong operations team and because our roots in the building industry are a few decades old now, designing and building quality, functional, and beautiful villages comes naturally. All apart of Classic Group, building better lives for people, every day.

Classic Group has established strong relationships with a number of Iwi groups across the country (Ngai Tahu, Owhatiura South Five, Parewaitai, Ngāi Tamarawaho), collaborating to deliver projects that achieve a variety of cultural objectives. These include exploring ways to unlock land while maintaining ownership cultural connections – and create employment and homes for whanau.
